Public health
Public health laboratory logistics
Movement of the samples underpinning disease surveillance, where a delay is not an inconvenience to one patient but a gap in the picture for a population.
What goes wrong
01
Surveillance work depends on samples arriving from many places at once. A collection point that consistently fails to get its samples in does not only lose its own data. It distorts what the picture appears to show.
02
When something is moving through a population, the interval between collection and result is the interval in which decisions cannot be made. Transport is a meaningful part of that interval and the part most easily shortened.
03
Sample volume in public health work is not steady. It is ordinary for long stretches and then suddenly is not, and an arrangement that only works at the ordinary volume is not much of an arrangement.

What we do about it
How the work is set up.
04 points
01
Multi-site collection
Samples gathered from collection points spread across a region and consolidated into the receiving laboratory.
02
Nationwide reach
Coverage across Peninsular and East Malaysia, so surveillance is not limited to the sites that happen to be convenient.
03
Temperature-aware handling
Packing chosen for the sample and the journey, because a surveillance result is only as good as the specimen it came from.
04
Trained for regulated consignments
Dangerous goods trained handling for biological material moving under regulated transport rules.
Questions
Asked by teams in this position.
Not covered here? Send us the detail and we will answer it directly.
Can you collect from many sites into one laboratory?
Yes. Send us the collection points and the receiving laboratory and we will tell you what the consolidated route looks like.
Can you handle a sudden increase in volume?
Tell us the range you need covered, ordinary and surge both, and we will be straight about where our capacity sits rather than discovering the limit during an incident.
Do you cover East Malaysia?
Yes, express and semi-express to Sabah and Sarawak alongside Peninsular Malaysia coverage.
