Biobanking
Cord blood and biobanking logistics
Collection, preservation and delivery of human cord blood, handled by trained staff working to standard procedures.
What goes wrong
01
Cord blood is collected once. There is no repeat sample, no second attempt and no way to compensate for a unit that arrives outside its window, which makes the collection leg the highest-consequence part of the whole process.
02
Collections do not happen on a schedule. They happen when a birth happens, which means the arrangement has to work at the time it is needed rather than at a convenient hour.
03
The value of a stored unit rests on the record of how it was handled between collection and the bank. A gap in that record devalues the unit even if nothing actually went wrong.

What we do about it
How the work is set up.
04 points
01
Trained handling, not general courier work
Handled by people who work in healthcare logistics every day, to standard procedures, not by a parcel network taking an unusual job.
02
Temperature-aware transport
Packing chosen for the material and the journey it is making, with the range agreed before collection rather than assumed at the door.
03
Nationwide collection
Collections throughout Malaysia with a single point of contact, instead of a chain of subcontractors each holding part of the job.
04
Storage available alongside transport
Where material needs to be held instead of moved straight through, 2–8 °C and 15–25 °C storage runs under the same team.
Questions
Asked by teams in this position.
Not covered here? Send us the detail and we will answer it directly.
Do you handle human cord blood?
Yes. Collection, preservation and delivery of human cord blood is handled by trained staff working to standard procedures.
Can you collect outside normal office hours?
Collections that cannot wait for the next working day need to be arranged specifically. Tell us what the pattern looks like and we will tell you honestly what we can commit to rather than agreeing to something we cannot hold.
What storage temperature do you offer?
We hold 2–8 °C and 15–25 °C. Cryogenic and frozen storage is not something we offer, so if your material needs it, say so and we will tell you which part of the chain we can cover.
